Art2Green Africa Alliance
Partnership Charter
The Art2Green Africa Alliance Charter outlines the guiding principles, values, and collaborative framework for all participating members, ensuring a shared commitment to advancing green economy development, sustainable practices, and the African Union Green Recovery Action Plan.
Vision and Purpose
The Art2Green Africa Alliance envisions a resilient and thriving Africa through sustainable development, green economy transformation, and ecosystem conservation. Its purpose is to coordinate and mobilize diverse stakeholders—governments, private sector, civil society, and communities—toward achieving the African Union’s Green Recovery Action Plan, focusing on climate resilience, economic inclusivity, and ecosystem integrity.
Guiding Principles
The partnership is grounded in key values that guide our collective action:
- Integrity and Interdependence: We build on trust, honesty, and the recognition that each partner’s role and success are interconnected within the ecosystem of sustainable development.
- Complementarity and Mutual Benefit: Understanding that each partner brings unique strengths, resources, and expertise, and through collaboration, we ensure that benefits are shared equitably among all stakeholders.
- Dynamism of Development: We embrace the rapidly changing environment of Africa’s developmental landscape, ensuring that we are agile and responsive to emerging opportunities and challenges.
- Adaptability: We recognize that flexibility in approaches allows for local context-sensitive solutions and evolving strategies that meet Africa’s diverse ecological and economic needs.
- Transparency: We acknowledge that open communication and accountability are key to fostering trust and collective ownership of outcomes.
- Co-Evolution: We believe in growing together—where learning, innovation, and action progress in tandem to shape the future of sustainable development in Africa.
- Self-Organization and Self-Learning: We understand that empowering local communities and organizations to lead within their domains ensures continuous growth, knowledge sharing, and autonomy.
- Heterogeneity and Duplication of Relations: We encourage diversity of perspectives, approaches, and solutions, avoiding over-reliance on a single model while embracing redundancy in networks to foster resilience.
- Collaborative Innovation Culture: We promote innovative thinking to tackle long-standing challenges, ensuring that partners bring fresh perspectives and create disruptive solutions that have lasting impact.
